Here's everything you need to know about trying Call of Duty: Vanguard early.
It's that time again. Another year, another Call of Duty to experience, and 2021 is no different. This time around, we'll be jumping into World War II with the advent of Call of Duty: Vanguard, set to drop this November. But you don't have to wait until deep into the fall season to take up arms against the enemies. You can do it this weekend with the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha. If you're ready to get a taste of the newest entry in the Call of Duty series, you can jump online this weekend to test it out with others during a very brief Alpha period with multiplayer. Ready to enlist? We've got everything you need to know about getting into the game.
How to join the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha
Unlike many other alpha preview programs, you don't actually need to do anything special to join the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha. This time around, all you need to do is own a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4. If you're playing on one of those consoles, all you really have to do is download the alpha and jump in once it's live. It's playable without a PS Plus subscription as well.
To join the alpha, go online to the PS Store and search for the Call of Duty: Vanguard alpha, and download from there for free. If you already have Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare installed, you can look for the special alpha menu and download it from there.
When does the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha begin?
You can jump into the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha on Friday, August 27 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. But act fast, because it's only set to last for 48 hours. It's set to end on Sunday, August 29 at 10 AM/ 1 PM ET. There will be an additional beta period following the alpha in the future, so don't worry if you can't make it.
What does the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha include?
You can play one all-new mode in multiplayer with friends: Champion Hill. Players take turns in a round-robin style tournament with duos or trios duking it out on one map. You'll earn cash by picking up items or killing enemies, and then you can spend it during designated rounds. Do your best from one match to the next to see who ultimately emerges victorious. Plus, if you participate in the Alpha, you'll get a new Calling Card and Emblem that may be used in Warzone and Vanguard.
Now get out there and get ready to take out your enemies!
