Evo Announcement Roundup

Didn't watch all of Evo? Don't worry, we know it's a lot of games. SteelSeries attended the biggest fighting game event, and we're rounding up all the big news for you.

SteelSeries attended Evo 2024, and we loved engaging with the fighting game community! For those who weren't there, check out our socials for all kinds of fun content. But if you missed the majority of Evo, don't worry; we are rounding up the biggest announcements for you below. Get hype and get ready for more battles!

Street Fighter VI — A closer look

We already knew that Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury is coming to Street Fighter VI this Fall, but Capcom showed a teaser trailer. No gameplay, unfortunately.

Next will be Mai Shiranui in the winter of 2025 and then long-time Street Fighter character Elena in spring 2025.

Tekken 8 — Heihachi returns!

Just when you thought the old man is dead for real... he's not. Even though he was thrown into a volcano. He has been ressurected!

It's a bit of a bummer that so many returning characters are DLC, but I suppose you can't really have a Tekken game without Heihachi. He is coming to the Season Pass this Fall, while Polish karateka Lidia is available now.

Guilty Gear Strive — A Cyberpunk guest character?!

Arc System Works never fails to surprise us with reveals. Showcasing the Season 4 pass, including new stages and a 3v3 battle mode, the pass teases returning characters Dizzy and Venom, who have been on the roster for years in previous games.

In 2025, newcomer Unika will make her appearance, having ties to the upcoming Guilty Gear anime show. Lastly, ASW collaborated with CD Projekt Red to bring in Lucy from the show Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Guess Daisuke Ishiwatari really liked that anime. It also wouldn't be surprising if a second season is coming!

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising — Next 3 characters

The trailer also teased the cutesy Vikala, who will arrive in October this year, and the mysterious Sandalphon, with the Season 2 Character Pass.

Multiversus — Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice!

The Multiversus cast grows! The free-to-play title will add two newcomers: Samurai Jack! Check him out in action in the trailer above. Some rumors claim that Beetlejuice is coming as well, perhaps coinciding with the upcoming movie release.

King of Fighters XV — A deadly duo

Vice and Mature return to King of Fighters XV! Though the trailer doesn't show gameplay, the two characters will appear in December of 2024, so surely there will be proper trailers later. Their looks are callbacks to their first appearances in the games, in King of Fighters '94 for Mature, and Vice in King of Fighters '95.

Under Night In-Birth II: SyS Celes — A new character

Uzuki is coming to Under Night In-Birth 2! She looks like a blast; she's a witch riding on a broomstick who throws out random items. Her attacks look very slapstick-y, too.

Uzuki is available as a DLC character on Julty 25th on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact — Coming this year!

Hunter X Hunter anime fans have a lot to look forward to, as their fighting game is coming in 2024! The latest reveal is showcasing Meruem. This is a pretty rapid, 3v3 fighting game, so you can try all kinds of squads made up from your favorite Hunter X Hunter characters.

Hayao

Not much of a "reveal," but Hayao went viral during Evo 2024 for... well, all kinds of things. The images speak for themselves. But the Street Fighter: 3rd Strike player made waves with his humor and his body.
