Best Sniper Loadouts in Modern Warfare 3

There are three sniper rifles in MW3, and we have the best loadout of attachments for each one.

Sniping has always been one of the most popular ways of playing Call of Duty, and that certainly has not changed in the recent Modern Warfare 3. While sniping has seen a dip in popularity over the years, it’s still a prevalent sight to see in any match of multiplayer.

In MW3, there are three brand new sniper rifles, the Longbow, KATT AMR, and KV Inhibitor. You can also use the full helping of snipers from MW2 2022, which you likely already have leveled up and know what attachments work best on them. The same can’t be said for the three new MW3 snipers, as there are all new attachments to equip and a fresh meta to solve.

To aid your process and sniping success, we have provided the top loadouts for all three sniper rifles in MW3 in the guide below.

Best Sniper Loadouts in MW3

The three snipers in MW3 are all extremely different from one another. They all have distinguishable qualities that make them both appealing and unappealing depending on your individual playstyle.

The Longbow is the de-facto choice for any quickscoping player in MW3. The bolt-action sniper has extremely strong mobility, allowing you to get right in an enemy’s face and pull your gun up fast to land the first shot. Of course, this mobility comes at the cost of damage range; you’ll find the Longbow tends to hitmarker enemies more often than not, especially at farther ranges.

As for the KATT AMR and KV Inhibitor, they have no issues with damage range. Both snipers can deal a tremendous amount of damage regardless of where you are on the map. However, both snipers have far less mobility than the Longbow. The KV Inhibitor is a semi-auto sniper, so mobility isn’t as big of an issue since you can pull the trigger faster. The KATT AMR is a bolt-action, though, and it still has slow mobility, meaning you are almost forced to play at longer ranges with it.

With all of that in mind, let’s go over the top loadout for all three snipers. These loadouts feature attachments that maximize the strengths of each sniper while also minimizing any weaknesses.

Longbow Loadout

longbow sniper mw3

  • Barrel: Pro-99 Long Barrel
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Magazine: 10 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop
  • Bolt: SA-M Quickbolt

With this loadout, we have decided to maximize the Longbow’s quickscoping ability by increasing aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time. Attachments such as No Stock, and the XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop accomplish this. The 10 Round Mag also helps with this by drastically reducing the Longbw’s magazine size.

The SA-M Quickbolt is another nice addition, increasing the Longbow’s rechambering speed so you can get shots off quicker. Finally, the Pro-99 Long Barrel reduces mobility but dramatically improves damage range to hopefully lessen the hitmarkers you see.

KATT AMR Loadout

  • Barrel: Perdition 24” Short
  • Stock: Tactical Stock Pad
  • Bolt: Ephemeral Qucikbolt
  • Rear Grip: Phantom Grip
  • Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity

The KATT AMR won’t be fast no matter what attachments you throw on its loadout. However, with these attachments, you are maximizing its mobility while not lowering its already strong damage range at all. We still recommend playing at longer ranges with this loadout, though, which is where the .50 Cal High Velocity ammunition really makes a difference.

KV Inhibitor Loadout

  • Barrel: Kastovia JEK-40 Barrel
  • Laser: Schlager PEQ Box IV
  • Stock: Ivanov Wood Stock
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip
  • Rear Grip: Broadside Factory Grip

Our final sniper loadout is for the KV Inhibitor, the only semi-automatic sniper on offer in MW3. This loadout increases both mobility and recoil control above all else. You want to ensure recoil is manageable with the Inhibitor, as its semi-auto nature means you can fire multiple shots off in quick succession. Without added recoil control, your gun will kick straight up in the air after each shot, making it more difficult to land consistent hits.

And that does it for our best sniper loadouts in MW3. These loadouts could potentially change based on future balancing patches and it’s also rumored that a new sniper could be arriving in Season 1 of MW3, so we’ll continue to update this piece as changes roll in.
