You can freely rotate the microphone in 360 degrees, as long as it's facing you.

Is it okay to see the yellow indicator while speaking?

Yes; the yellow indicator is completely acceptable. It informs you that you're at the top of what your sound level should be. If you see red, turn down the microphone gain or position yourself slightly further from the microphone until it only reaches the yellow indicator.

Any tips for setting it up with a boom arm adapter?

When inserting the thumbscrew into the boom arm adapter, note a small groove on the inner ring of the thumbscrew. Align it with a notch that's on the inner part of the boom adapter. Rotate the thumbscrew until it lines up. Refer to the included Product Information Guide for additional instruction.

In order to hear sidetone (your voice in real time), you need a wired connection. Plug in a wired headset and connect it to the Alias via a 3.5mm cable.
