The Springfield Nuclear Power Plant event in Fortnite’s Simpsons Season stands out as one of the most exciting challenges this season. Players can trigger a meltdown countdown, solve a color-coded console sequence, and grab high-tier loot before the reactor goes critical. This guide breaks down every step while giving PC players a few tactical tips to stay ahead of the chaos.
The meltdown doesn’t begin immediately. You’ll need to wait until the later stages of a match (around when third zone of the storm appears) before the sequence activates. Once it does, alarms echo across the plant and red warning lights flash everywhere, signaling it’s time to move.
Head toward the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, found near the northeast section of the map. The console you’ll need to interact with is inside the top-left building on the lowest level near the main control room. PC players should consider adjusting their mouse sensitivity or key bindings ahead of time to quickly navigate tight corridors.
Before entering any sequence, locate the colored instruction poster around the Power Plant area. Below are locations of where the code can be found within the area:
The pattern changes every match, so make sure to double-check before pressing any buttons. For instance, one match might show blue, yellow, orange, while the next could be orange, blue, yellow.
Once you’ve identified the order, return to the control console. You’ll see three colored buttons:
Orange (left)
Yellow (center)
Blue (right)
Press them in the same order displayed on the poster. If entered correctly, the lights around the console will flicker green, alarms will fade, and loot will spawn directly from the console. Rewards often include items like Slurp Juice, Chug Splashes, weapons, and various ammo.
Move quickly: You only have a few minutes before the meltdown completes, so plan your path ahead of time.
Stay alert: The noise can attract third-party players looking for easy eliminations.
Use tools: Shockwaves, sprint boosts, or vehicles can help you get in and out fast.
Successfully solving the puzzle halts the meltdown and drops a bundle of loot and XP. Each match features a new color combination, keeping the challenge unpredictable and rewarding. If you miss the event, it resets every round, so you’ll always have another shot to try this Simpsons puzzle in Fortnite, for as long as the event lasts.
