If you're looking for the best weapons to use across the board in Battlefield 6, your search stops today.

Battlefield 6 offers dozens of unique weapons to use in multiplayer. From traditional assault rifles and snipers to the hybrid nature of carbines, there's a weapon for every player and playstyle. Of course, trying to find the best overall weapon in each of the categories can be a daunting task, especially since you have to level up each weapon to use its best attachments in Battlefield 6.

To make your job a little easier, we've taken it upon ourselves to test every weapon in multiplayer and come up with a firm decision on the best one in every category. Below, you can see our picks for each category and a brief explanation about why we chose the weapon we did. You'll find every weapon category in Battlefield 6 represented, from assault rifles all the way to shotguns.

Best Assault Rifle - B36A4

Let's kick things off with the most-used weapon class in Battlefield, the assault rifles. During the Battlefield 6 beta, we only had access to three ARs: the NVO-228E, the B36A4, and the M433. The M433 is the default assault rifle in multiplayer, and you unlock the NVO-228E and B36A4 by ranking up your player level.

While the M433 and the NVO-288E are fine weapons that can get the job done, the B36A4 is another monster entirely. This AR absolutely shreds through enemies with its high damage and fire rate. It has some recoil when you use it with no attachments, but after throwing on a muzzle, underbarrel, and a barrel, it becomes arguably the most well-rounded weapon in Battlefield 6.

You can take any gunfight with confidence and know that you have a strong chance of coming out on top when using the B36A4.

Best Submachine Gun - SGX

Next up, we have the submachine gun class, which isn't too great in modes like Conquest or Breakthrough. However, SMGs excel in Domination, King of the Hill, and even Rush.

Out of the two SMG options, the SGX reigns supreme over the PW7A2. It's not really a close competition either, as the SGX acts more like an assault rifle at times due to its incredible damage and virtually no recoil. Even at ranges exceeding 30-40 meters, the SGX can outgun an assault rifle or DMR if you can hit your shots. Of course, where the SGX shines brightest is at close range, where it utterly dominates any weapon except for one, which we'll talk about soon.

Best Carbine - M4A1

The carbine weapon class offers guns that look like assault rifles, but can be treated like a hybrid between an AR and an SMG. Carbines tend to either have low damage or shaky recoil, making them conform to a specific playstyle in Battlefield 6.

However, the M4A1 features the best of both worlds when it comes to damage output and accuracy. When equipped with the right attachments, the M4A1 has very little recoil and a damage profile that matches the NVO-228E from the assault rifle class. While it's not as strong at longer ranges like the B36A4, it's much better at close ranges than any AR.

Compared to the two other carbines, the AK-205 and the M417 A2, the M4A1 is a no-brainer choice. The AK-205 has absolutely no recoil, but low damage, while the M417 A2 hits hard but is uncontrollable when firing for long periods.

Best Light Machine Gun - KTS100 MK8

The light machine guns in Battlefield 6 are surprisingly effective, as they're the signature weapon for the Support class. When used with the Support class, LMGs are much more mobile than you'd expect them to be, which makes them more effective across the board.

Between the two LMGs we've seen so far in multiplayer, the KTS100 MK8 wins out over the L110. The primary reason for this is that the KTS100 MK8 has much higher accuracy and has nearly the same damage output as its counterpart. With the added accuracy, damage, and mobility from attachments and the Support class, the KTS100 turns into a meta weapon, especially in the larger game modes in Battlefield 6.

Best DMR - SVK-8.6

DMRs are often the least-used weapon in a Battlefield title, as they're not as strong as snipers and usually can't down enemies as quickly as an assault rifle or LMG. While this remains true in Battlefield 6, that doesn't mean the DMRs aren't viable as weapons.

The SVK-8.6, in particular, is a highly effective weapon in the right hands and with its best attachments equipped. This DMR has an extremely high damage profile that will net you a two-shot kill a majority of the time. You'll need to get used to the high recoil after shooting a bullet with the SVK, but you can reduce the recoil with some key attachments.

Best Sniper Rifle - M2010 ESR

As we only saw one sniper rifle during the Battlefield 6 beta, our choice is made for us. It's very possible the best sniper isn't the M2010 ESR after the full game has launched, but don't count this sniper out just yet.

The M2010 ESR is a fantastic sniper that will one-shot kill enemies if you hit a headshot. When you don't hit a headshot, you'll see a mix of damage outputs from 64-95, so you must be aiming for the head to maximize the effectiveness of the sniper. Of course, if you're trying to go around quickscoping enemies in Battlefield 6, aiming for the head isn't as much of an issue.

Fortunately, the M2010 ESR has decent mobility for a sniper, so quickscoping and staying active on the map are fairly easy to do.

Best Shotgun - M87A1

Finally, we have the only shotgun in Battlefield 6, the M87A1. Many players are likely thanking their lucky stars that only one shotgun is currently in multiplayer, as the M87A1 is the most overpowered weapon in the entire game.

It's extremely likely that EA and DICE nerf the M87A1 for the full launch, but as it stands, the M87A1 is one of the stronger weapons we've seen in a Battlefield game. It can fire rapidly with no loss to accuracy and has a ridiculous damage range that allows players to one-shot kill enemies from 10+ meters away. While a shotgun is supposed to be lethal at close range, the M87A1 is simply too good in its current state.

Even after the shotgun is nerfed, it's hard to envision another shotgun overtaking it in terms of raw power.

And that does it for our list of the best weapons in Battlefield 6. It's very possible this list changes in the future, so we'll update any categories if there is a weapon balancing patch or new weapons added.
