How To Get Life Fruit in Terraria

Stay in the game longer with this magical fruit, which can only be found in a very particular place.

Terraria is a survival game at heart. While it's exciting to explore and forge your own path, you've got to keep your well-being at heart first and foremost. Sometimes this is as easy as staying away from the more difficult enemies. Sometimes you need something a little more heavy-duty, like Life Fruit.

Life Fruit is an item that you can use to permanently increase your max life. You can add five points to your HP bar by consuming it, which isn't anything to sneeze at. If you have at least 400 max health, you can galvanize your character and keep them safe from the dangers that await in Terraria with this very special item.

But how do you get your hands on it? As always, we've got you covered. Here's everything you need to know about Life Fruit.

Before you do anything else, you're going to want to start playing on Hard Mode. It sounds daunting, sure, but you need your maximum health set at 400 first. Otherwise, your efforts to procure Life Fruit will be meaningless. Next, you're going to have to tackle one of those menacing Underground Jungle bosses (yes, the mechanical ones) if you want to kickstart Life Fruit growth.

You'll need to seek out The Twins, The Destroyer, or Skeleton Prime as you enter the Underground Jungle after dusk. There's a slim (about 10% chance) that you'll see one of these bosses spawn following your defeat of a Demon or Crimson Tower. However, it's best to try to summon one using mechanical parts you can find throughout regular play. Once a boss is summoned, however, it will continue showing up until you defeat it.

Once you've beaten the mechanical boss that spawns for you, which can be a difficult feat, the hard part is over. You'll start seeing Life Fruit growing in the Underground Jungle. Look for a glowing orange heart seen attached to jungle grass blocks -- it's difficult to miss. You won't see much of it out in the wild, but it's hard not to take note of when you do come across it.

But you don't need to rely on random happenstance alone to find it. You can check your map, on which Life Fruit appears as a green square. If you need a quick reference to find what you're looking for, you can always look there. And with that in mind, you can go forth and conquer...with additional health!

If you're regularly concerned that you're about to run out of health, maxing out your inventory with Life Fruit may not be the only course of action you want to take. Using SteelSeries' Gamesense integration, you can set up a fully-customizable Terraria experience that fits your play style, and that includes syncing your favorite SteelSeries headset with your health bar.

Set up your gear to flash red when you're on the brink of death so you never have to wonder again. Or just set a series of specific colors for each biome. Make Terraria (and your SteelSeries gear) yours while playing with RGB Gamesense. Now that's smart. Download SteelSeries GG now.
