STEELSERIES ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ORCBITE APPAREL

Global Video Game Peripheral Maker and MMA Apparel Designer and Event Sponsor Will Team Up This Tournament Season In Marketing, Branding and More

COPENHAGEN – MAY 7, 2011 – Kicking off the weekend with The Zone Fighting Championship Series in Gothenburg, Sweden, SteelSeries, the leading manufacturer of professional gaming peripherals announced a new partnership with Orcbite, globally recognized apparel designer and brand as well as sponsor of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters and events. As a leading technology brand in Sweden over the last 10 years, as well as an active supporter of MMA and championship events since 2009, SteelSeries is fusing together two passionate communities – MMA and gaming. As an immediate result of this new partnership the companies will introduce two SteelSeries and Orcbite co-branded MMA t-shirts.

“The MMA community is as passionate about their sport as we are about ours. It makes sense for SteelSeries to share our expertise in building a successful gaming peripheral brand with a company like Orcbite, who not only creates high-quality, cool apparel, but also understands the incredible value in sponsoring fighters, events, and the growth of their sport” said Robert Hjelmér Nordic and Baltic Manager. “Not to mention there’s a definite intersect between MMA fans and gamers. This partnership will allow us to bring these two similar audiences together in some creative marketing and branding opportunities”.

Orcbite CEO, Christian Lindell, is a hardcore gamer and has been using SteelSeries peripherals for the past six years, “When an opportunity came up to work with SteelSeries as a partner, we were excited to get it started. The gaming and MMA scene as well as SteelSeries and Orcbite have one big and important perspective in common, for fighters and for gamers, Winning is everything.”

As an active sponsor of The Zone Fighting Championship for the past two years and supporter of Orcbite fighters, including Rami Aziz and August Wallén, SteelSeries introduces the first two t-shirts co-designed and created by Orcbite. Both t-shirts will be available in black, with the SteelSeries logo on the front, Winning is Everything on the back and Orcbite logos on each shoulder. Available in June, the T-shirts will be 399 SEK/€44.99. Additional T-shirt details about the exact designs and fabric can be found online at Orcbite.com and SteelSeries.com.
